Ms. Esha Aftab is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Currently she is pursuing her PhD in Computer Science from Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT). Her research is focused on multilingual Question Answering in the Islamic domain. Her research interests include Natural Language Processing, Question Answering, transformer-based language models, and Large Language Models, with particular emphasis on Arabic, Urdu, and English. Her research work contributions to Qur'an Reading Comprehension includes the development and evaluation of multilingual datasets and application of neural and LLM-based approaches. She has published her work in international journals and conferences. She also has extensive teaching experience in Computer Science, including programming, data structures, algorithms, DLD and machine learning.
